Bronwyn is dedicated to making your experience relaxed and safe for you and your baby.  She is available to answer questions or concerns and provide professional guidance right throughout your pregnancy and after your baby is born.

As babies aren’t usually born to schedule, this can mean on occasion that your antenatal appointments may need to be delayed or rescheduled.  We are really appreciative of your understanding if this does happen. Bronwyn takes a certain number of antenatal bookings each month so she can be there for all her patients when needed.  If she is ever not available, or away for professional or family reasons, she will always ensure a kind, compassionate and like-minded obstetrician is available to step in and look after you.

And since no baby or mother is the same, Bronwyn will tailor your consultations to suit your needs, so you have the time to ask all the questions and express any concerns you might have.

Consultations: What to expect

Your first consultation will usually occur between eight and 10 weeks. After that, Bronwyn likes to see you every four weeks until 28 weeks, then fortnightly until 36 weeks.  After 36 weeks, your visits will be weekly unless you need them more frequently which can be easily arranged.  Sometimes there may be reasons you need admission to hospital during your antenatal period and in that case, Bronwyn will sort that out for you and visit you regularly while you are an inpatient. 

As you approach the third trimester you may start thinking more about labour and birth. Bronwyn will set aside time during your visits to discuss anything that you’d like to know, help you formulate a birth plan if that is something you are interested in and discuss options and preferences for pain relief.
You may also wish to know what would happen in the event of an emergency.  Honest and open discussion is really important so please feel free to voice any concerns you might have.  Bronwyn is committed to helping make your baby’s birth a positive and stress-free experience and to ensure you feel supported in your choices.

During your pregnancy you will undergo a number of tests including blood tests, screening for diabetes and several ultrasounds that help monitor your pregnancy progress and you and your baby’s well-being.  A downloadable checklist  of the tests you will likely be undertaking is available below:

As an obstetrician, Bronwyn is on call during the day and night seven days a week for her private patients.  In the event that she is away or unable to attend she will ensure you are seen by an experienced and like-minded obstetrician whom she trusts and respects implicitly.
